Farewell to a legend

This weekend was a sad day for KLI as the big Dutchman Wim Jobse played his final game for the club, Wim is moving to Dubai with his brand new bride, (Who he married yesterday).

Wim played for KLI for just under 4 seasons and has been an ever present in the first team, playing a number of positions to help out the team, Mainly as a striker, Wim in the last 2 seasons scored 23 goals, 15 last and 8 this campaign.

Wim will be missed on and off the pitch, A tireless worker on the pitch and the legendary Sausage of it!

From all the boys at KLI, Wim we wish you and the new Mrs Sausage a happy new start in Dubai!

We shall see you on the next tour no doubt!

Some farewell messages from the lads…

Mark Williams – For Wim Great lad on and off the pitch. I don’t get out often with the lads so have never had the chance to see the legend that is Wim on a proper night out! Good luck in Dubai mate. Chippy

Dear Wim Today being the last day in this club reminds me the times we spent together having fun, playing together and wining games for the club. It was really very pleasant sharing your company and lovely to have a friend and a player like you. We will really miss all your support and your intellectual skills to do up with all the goals and support for the team No one will take your place in this club (KLI) but will try to find some one to be your replacement. Hope you will still be on the whatsapp group and will definitely keep in touch with the group. We Sha’ll try and patch up at least once or twice in a year at our favorite Bar (whynot) Wish you all the best in your future. Regards Vincent

Abers – Good luck big fella, A legend on and off the pitch and a man who will be missed, A strike partnership that will be hard to beat! See you on tour very soon mate x

Pete Dias – A fitting farewell to one of KL International’s favourite sons. The Sausage as he is fondly know to all the players, tied the knot with Maria on Monday.

This was to be his final act in Malaysia. Not only have we lost a good player, we have also lost a great friend.

I also got a text from Lee Goldberg, remember him? He mentioned still having a phobia

about getting into Taxi’s.  I think the boys who went to Bangkok a couple of seasons ago, will remember that story.

On behalf of all the players we wish you & Maria the best of luck.

You will be missed by all.
